The Red Dot Jury has made its decision. Attension Theta Flex wins a Red Dot: Best of the Best, for its groundbreaking design at the Red Dot Award for Product Design 2020. This means that Biolin Scientific is one of the winners of the world’s most famous design competition.
An instrument to encourage research in surface science
The groundbreaking Attension Theta Flex optical tensiometer was launched in early 2019 and quickly became a favorite among research laboratories worldwide. The versatility of the instrument provides many measurement possibilities and the user-friendly software combined with an intuitive design is key to its success.

The Red Dot Award: Product Design offers designers and manufacturers from around the world a platform to evaluate their products. In 2020, designers and companies from 60 countries entered more than 6,500 products in the competition. The international jury is made up of experienced experts from different disciplines and has been meeting for around 65 years to select the best design of the year. Despite the motto “In search of great design and innovation”, only the best designers receive an award.
Attension Theta Flex in exhibitions, online and in the yearbook
On June 22, 2020, Attension Theta Flex will be added to the Milestones in Contemporary Design exhibition in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen, where all the award-winning products will be on display. The museum will be a hotspot for top-class industrial design. From that date, the winning product from Biolin Scientific will also be presented in the online exhibition on the Red Dot website. The Red Dot Design Yearbook 2020/2021 will be published in July 2020.
