Stable and robust routine microscope
Nikon Eclipse Ci is a very stable and robust routine microscope that will be the lab’s most appreciated “workhorse” for many years. With LED illumination, space for 6 objectives and with more than 120 objectives to choose from among Nikon’s CFI60 optics, the Ci models are used for light field, dark field, phase contrast, polarization and fluorescence.
The Ci-E model offers motorized lens changing controlled by ergonomically placed buttons at the focus knobs. The hands rest on the table at all times and only need to be moved when changing slides. The lens change can also be done via the supplied control unit if preferred. If the motorized condenser is selected for the Ci-E, the top lens will automatically switch between retracted and extended depending on the selected objective magnification. Regardless, the last selected light intensity is obtained from the LED illuminator for each lens, providing maximum convenience.
Ci-L and -E incorporate a high-intensity LED illumination with “daylight” color temperature, which means minimal eye strain for users who spend many hours at the microscope. The LED illumination also means very low power consumption and eliminates color temperature changes that occur with halogen light sources.
The Ci-L model has been upgraded to Ci-L plus and comes with a 6-hole lens turret with space for
analyzer. When changing lenses, the light intensity of each lens is memorized – LIM (Light Intensity Management system) – which makes it easy to switch between different magnifications. You can also activate an ECO mode that automatically turns off the light after a selected period of time. The microscope has a built-in display that shows the selected magnification and information about whether LIM and ECO modes are activated
The Ci microscopes are designed to offer very good ergonomics. By placing the right and left focus knobs opposite each other, while the X/Y knobs of the preparation table are in line with the focus knobs, a basic condition is obtained to minimize strain on the back, shoulders and neck. The hands will then be in line with each other and you as a user can sit straight and relaxed. Rest your hands on the worktop and adjust the tilting ergonomic tube to suit you. If necessary, spacers can be used to keep the eyepiece at the right height.
