The technology is ideal for living cells and organisms because the cells are not exposed to high excitation light, and the speed allows even dynamic processes in living cells to be imaged. The CSU-W1 has a large field of view, about 4 x larger than the X1 model. This makes it a very good choice if you want to scan large specimens. The large field of view is well adapted for use with large sensor CMOS cameras.    <\/p>\n<p>The design of the pinhole\/disk is also optimized to reduce crosstalk. The W1 model is therefore a very good choice for thick specimens, such as organoids. The W1, like the X1, is highly customizable; the choice of different disks, cameras and excitation wavelengths allows it to be adapted to suit many applications, for example, the W1 can be configured for two cameras.  <\/p>\n<h3>Upgrade your Spinning Disk<\/h3>\n<p>You can upgrade your Spinning Disk to Super Resolution CSU-W1 SoRa; Super Resolution by Optical Re-Assignment for XY resolution to 120nm. The W1 can be upgraded to a super resolution system providing up to 2X better resolution (with deconvolution) while maintaining confocality. The system then has an extra disk with microlenses in front of the pinhole, as well as a unit with magnifying lenses. Everything is motorized and you can easily switch between super resolution\/confocal or confocal only in the software. This means that the CSU-W1 SoRa is a confocal spinning disk system and confocal superresolution system in one.
