NIS-Elements JOBS is Nikon’s advanced module for automating image capture and analysis<\/strong> within the NIS-Elements platform. The module serves as a powerful workflow tool where you can create customized, automated experiments for microscopy – without traditional programming.<\/p>\n

JOBS is based on visual workflow programming<\/strong>, where experiments are set up by dragging and dropping blocks representing image capture, analysis, conditions, loops and hardware control. The result will be reproducible, flexible and intelligent experiments that can be saved, reused and shared between users and systems.<\/p>\n

The module is particularly suitable for high-content screening (HCS)<\/strong>, live cell imaging, quality control and advanced multi-unit experiments where both image data and analysis results control the course of the experiment.<\/p>\n

\n

Analysis during imaging (real-time \/ feedback microscopy)<\/h3>\n

With JOBS, analysis can be performed directly during image acquisition<\/strong>. For example, cells can be identified and counted, intensity or morphology analyzed, or objects classified using AI-based methods.<\/p>\n

The analysis results can influence the next step of the experiment in real time. If a certain condition is met – for example, a defined number of objects or a signal threshold – the system can automatically change magnification, switch imaging techniques, activate light stimulation or move on to the next measurement point. This eliminates the need to manually review large amounts of data afterwards. <\/p>\n

\n

Visualization of images and analysis data<\/h3>\n

All images, metadata and analysis results are stored in a structured way in the JOBS database. This gives you full traceability between experiments, workflows and results. <\/p>\n

Data can be easily visualized, filtered and organized, and exported to Excel<\/strong>, for example, or used to create ready-made reports directly in NIS-Elements. This simplifies both documentation, quality work and further analysis.<\/p>\n

\n

Database for multi-well plates and specimen holders<\/h3>\n

JOBS contains an extensive library of ready-to-use definitions for multi-well plates, slides, Petri dishes and other specimen holders<\/strong> from most major suppliers.<\/p>\n

You simply choose which plate or holder to use and specify exactly which wells or areas to analyze. Custom, client-specific holders can also be created and saved in the database – ideal for both research and industrial applications. <\/p>\n

\n

Automation for advanced and multimodal microscopy<\/h3>\n

JOBS supports complex workflows that combine multiple imaging techniques, such as widefield, confocal, TIRF, SIM<\/strong>, as well as photomanipulation such as photoactivation and photobleaching.<\/p>\n

Workflows can also be integrated with NIS General Analysis (GA3<\/strong>), NIS.ai<\/strong> and external analysis routines via Python<\/strong>, making JOBS a central platform for smart and scalable microscopy.<\/p>\n
